Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Kuala Lumpur’s steel-clad 88-storey twin towers, with a skybridge between them and an observation deck high above the city.
Completed in the late 1990s, the Petronas Twin Towers were the world’s tallest buildings for several years and are still the tallest twin towers anywhere. Their floor plan is based on an eight-pointed Islamic star, and their steel-and-glass facades shine silver by day and glow after dark.
A guided visit takes you to the double-decker skybridge that links the two towers on the 41st and 42nd floors, then up to the observation deck on the 86th floor for views across the city. Visit slots are limited and fill up on busy days, so we reserve them in advance.
At the foot of the towers, KLCC Park has shady walking paths, a children’s play area and evening fountain shows on its lake, and the Suria KLCC mall has plenty of places to eat. Come back after dark for photographs of the towers lit up.
