Skyscrapers, souks and golden desert evenings

Overview

Why visit Dubai?

Dubai is the easiest big holiday from India: a three-hour flight lands you in a city of record-breaking towers, vast malls and beach resorts, with the desert starting where the suburbs end. Days can be as full or as easy as you like, from the observation decks of the Burj Khalifa in the morning to a water park in the afternoon and a dhow dinner cruise after dark.

Most of our Dubai trips include a day in Abu Dhabi, about an hour and a half down the coast, for the marble Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque and the hand-carved BAPS Hindu Mandir, with Ferrari World and the Yas Island parks for families with teenagers. The desert safari, with its dune drive, camel rides and dinner under the stars, is the evening almost everyone remembers.

Dubai suits first-time international travellers, families with children, honeymooners and senior couples alike. Indian and pure-vegetarian restaurants are everywhere, Hindi is widely understood and Jain meals are easy to arrange. We plan the pace around you: sightseeing in the cooler hours, the hotel pool after lunch, and the big sights timed around the evening fountain shows.

Good to know

Planning a trip to Dubai

Do Indian passport holders need a visa for Dubai?

Yes. Most Indian travellers apply for a UAE tourist e-Visa online before departure, which we arrange with your booking. Holders of certain valid US, UK or EU visas or residence permits may qualify for a visa on arrival instead; we check which route applies to you.

How many days are enough for Dubai and Abu Dhabi?

Five to six days covers Dubai’s highlights and a full day in Abu Dhabi. Add a day or two for theme parks or Yas Island if you are travelling with children.

Is vegetarian and Jain food easy to find?

Very. Dubai has hundreds of Indian restaurants, including pure-vegetarian ones in Bur Dubai and Karama, and most hotels serve Indian dishes at breakfast. Desert safari and dhow cruise dinners include vegetarian dishes, and we request Jain meals in advance.

When is the best time to visit Dubai?

November to March, when days are warm and evenings pleasant for the desert and outdoor sights. June to September is very hot, though indoor attractions, malls and hotel pools still make a short summer break possible.
