About Niagara Falls State Park
Established in 1885, Niagara Falls State Park is the oldest state park in the United States. Its paths and islands put you right beside the rushing water: Prospect Point at the edge of the American Falls, and Terrapin Point on Goat Island, which looks across to the Horseshoe Falls.
The Maid of the Mist boat sails from the US side to the foot of the falls, with ponchos provided, and the Cave of the Winds walkways lead to the base of the Bridal Veil Falls, where you will be soaked by spray. The boat season runs from spring to autumn, and the falls are lit in colour every night.
Fly from New York to Buffalo, about 30 minutes away by road, or drive for around seven hours. With a Canadian visa, you can walk across the Rainbow Bridge for the view from the other side.
