Glide past the illuminated Parliament, Buda Castle and the Chain Bridge on an evening cruise on the Danube.
The Danube banks in Budapest are a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and after dark, when the Parliament, Buda Castle, Fisherman’s Bastion and the bridges are lit, the river becomes the best seat in the city.
An hour-long sightseeing cruise loops between the Margaret and Liberty bridges with commentary, while a dinner cruise adds a meal and live music. We request vegetarian menus in advance and choose boats with a heated indoor deck for cooler months.
Cruises leave from the Pest embankment near the city centre. Go about half an hour after sunset, when the sky still has some colour and the lights have come on. Children enjoy spotting the landmarks from the deck, and the commentary helps everyone get their bearings for the next day.
