About Budapest Parliament Building

Completed in the early twentieth century, the Hungarian Parliament Building stretches along the Pest bank of the Danube with a forest of spires and a central dome 96 metres high. It is the largest building in Hungary and the symbol of Budapest.

Guided tours lead up the grand staircase, through gilded halls and into the domed hall where the Holy Crown of Hungary is displayed under guard. Outside, walk along the river to the Shoes on the Danube Bank, a moving memorial to the victims of 1944–45.

Tours run at fixed times and are limited in number, so we reserve them in advance. The best views of the building are from across the river in Buda, or from the water at night.
