Tegenungan Waterfall

Tegenungan is one of the easiest of Bali’s waterfalls to reach, a short drive from Ubud near the village of Kemenuh. A broad curtain of water drops into a rocky pool surrounded by thick tropical greenery, and its roar fills the whole gorge.

Viewpoints and cafés line the top of the cliff, and a long stairway leads down to the river, where you can paddle or swim in the pool when the flow is gentle. There are photo platforms and swings for those who want them.

Go early, before the crowds, and remember that the climb back up is steep in the heat. Bring swimwear and a towel if you plan to get in. In the wet season the water can be too strong, and swimming may not be allowed.
