Blue Lagoon Iceland

The Blue Lagoon is Iceland’s best-known geothermal spa: a lagoon of warm, milky-blue water rich in silica and minerals, set in a black lava field on the Reykjanes Peninsula. The water is comfortably warm all year, even when snow is falling.

Spend a few hours floating in the lagoon, trying a silica mud mask and relaxing in the steam rooms. Because it lies between Keflavík airport and Reykjavík, it fits neatly into an arrival or departure day.

Entry is by pre-booked time slot, so we reserve it with your flights in mind. The silica can leave hair stiff, so use the conditioner provided and keep hair out of the water if you can. Volcanic activity on the peninsula has occasionally closed the lagoon at short notice, in which case we arrange an alternative geothermal spa.
