Lapland Husky Safari

A husky safari is one of the great thrills of a Lapland winter. After a briefing from the mushers, you set off in pairs, one person driving the sledge and the other riding, with an eager team of huskies racing through silent, snow-laden forest and across frozen lakes.

Most safaris include a visit to the kennels to meet the dogs, and sometimes the puppies, followed by hot berry juice by a fire. Younger children ride in the sledge with an adult or a guide at the reins.

Thermal overalls, boots and gloves are provided. Choose a short ride of an hour or so for families, or a longer safari for a deeper wilderness experience. The dogs are friendly and love attention, so there is time for photographs and a cuddle before you set off.
