About Tivoli Gardens

Tivoli Gardens opened in 1843 in the centre of Copenhagen and is one of the oldest amusement parks still operating in the world. It mixes rides, from gentle carousels to modern roller coasters and a wooden coaster from 1914, with flower gardens, a lake, a Chinese-style pagoda and open-air concerts.

Come in the afternoon and stay into the evening, when thousands of lights come on across the gardens. At Halloween and Christmas, the park is transformed with seasonal decorations and markets.

Tivoli sits right beside Copenhagen Central Station. It opens in seasons and closes between them, so we confirm dates when planning your trip. Restaurants inside the park range from snacks to sit-down meals with vegetarian choices, and there are plenty of gentle rides for small children.
