N Seoul Tower

Standing on top of Namsan in the middle of Seoul, the N Seoul Tower is the city’s best-known landmark and its finest viewpoint. On a clear day the observatory looks out over the whole city to the mountains that ring it, and at night Seoul glitters in every direction.

Most visitors ride the Namsan cable car up, then wander the terraces, where couples fasten padlocks to the railings as a symbol of lasting love. Walking trails and a stretch of the old city wall lead down through the park. Restaurants and cafés at the base and the top make it easy to stay for dinner with a view.

Go around sunset to see the city by day and by night. Weekday evenings are quieter; at weekends allow time for queues at the cable car.
