What to expect

Thailand's Andaman coast and its capital in a single week. You spend a day out on the water among the limestone islands of Phi Phi, island-hop by boat from Krabi, and finish in Bangkok with the Grand Palace, the Reclining Buddha and a dinner cruise on the Chao Phraya.

The mix of beach and city makes it a good choice for couples, groups of friends and families with teenagers. We can lengthen the beach stay, add a night in Pattaya, or replace a boat day with a spa day or an elephant sanctuary visit. Indian restaurants are easy to find in Patong, Ao Nang and central Bangkok, and vegetarian meals can be requested on the island tours.

Day by day

A suggested plan. Days can be added, dropped or swapped around your dates and interests.

1
Arrive in Phuket
Land in Phuket and transfer to your beach hotel. The rest of the day is free to settle in and walk along the sand.

2
Phi Phi Islands by speedboat
A full day by speedboat to the Phi Phi Islands, visiting Pileh Lagoon, Viking Cave and Maya Bay when it is open to visitors. Stop to snorkel in clear water, with lunch on Phi Phi Don.

Phuket sightseeing, transfer to Krabi
See the Big Buddha, Wat Chalong and the Karon viewpoint in the morning. In the afternoon, drive about three hours to Ao Nang in Krabi.

Krabi four-island tour
Hop between Phra Nang Cave Beach, Chicken Island, Tup Island and Poda Island by longtail or speedboat. At low tide you can walk across the sandbar that joins Tup to its neighbour.

Fly to Bangkok, Chao Phraya dinner cruise
Take the short flight of about an hour and a half to Bangkok. In the evening, cruise the Chao Phraya River past Wat Arun and the Grand Palace with dinner on board.

Bangkok temples and shopping
Visit the Grand Palace and the Emerald Buddha at Wat Phra Kaew, then the Reclining Buddha at Wat Pho; shoulders and knees must be covered. The afternoon is free for shopping at Pratunam, MBK or ICONSIAM.

Depart from Bangkok
A free morning before your transfer to the airport for the flight home.
