Golden Bridge, Ba Na Hills

The Golden Bridge, opened in 2018, curves through the mist high in the Ba Na Hills west of Da Nang, held aloft by a pair of enormous weathered stone hands. It quickly became one of the most photographed sights in Asia, and the walk across, with forest and mountains falling away below, lives up to the pictures.

You reach it by a long cable car ride over the rainforest. At the top, the Sun World Ba Na Hills resort adds a French-style village, gardens, a wine cellar and an indoor amusement park, so families can easily spend a full day.

Arrive early, as the bridge gets crowded by late morning and clouds often roll in later. It is noticeably cooler up in the hills than in Da Nang, so carry a light jacket. The resort is about 45 minutes by road from the city.
